Hobby Horse Ltd Funding Entitlement Information for Parents
WHAT IS THIS?
Every child in the U.K is entitled to have a proportion of Pre-school education funded by the government, regardless of whether they are attending a Pre-school or Full Day Care Setting. This is claimed on behalf of the parent and then paid directly to the setting.
WHAT IS MY CHILD ENTITLED TO?
The current entitlement is:
15 hours per week for every 3 and 4 year old child, starting the term after they have turned 3. For working parents, you may be eligible to claim the extended 30 hours free entitlement. Eligibility van be checked and you can apply at www.childcare-support.tax.service.gov.uk
The 15 hours has to be taken over a minimum of 2 days, 30 hours over 3 days
At either of our nurseries you can choose to use your entitlement in 3 hour sessions, 2.5 hour sessions or 5 hour sessions
A parent can only claim for the same number of sessions that their child attends a setting in one week up to a maximum of 6, and once the claim is submitted increased sessions cannot be claimed for until the following term.
Funding can now be taken over 38 weeks term time only or stretched over 47.5 weeks in our settings
A parent can claim in two settings as long as the total number of hours is no more than 15 and they are claiming 38 weeks term time only.
The session value of the funding is determined by the government and local education authority as is the number of weeks it is payable for.
WHICH PART OF MY CHILDS DAY DOES THE FUNDING RELATE TO?
Only 15 hoursor 30 hours can be funded so any additional requirements and meals taken at the nursery are payable by the parent in full.
Funding cannot be claimed for holiday periods.
HOW DO I CLAIM THIS FUNDING?
The nursery will supply you with the relevant paperwork that needs to be completed each term, and then returned to the nursery for submission.
WHO IS THE MONEY PAID TO?
The money is paid directly to the nursery. If you are claiming funding at a setting for your child, the setting is not allowed to charge you for that time and refund it later. It must show on your monthly invoice that the funded time has been deducted.
The remainder of the sessions/days after deducting the 15 hours is payable by the parent as are any meal charges/extra charges in all instances.
